Dr. Liao Wangcai
Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Liao Wangcai is the Chief Technology Officer of our company. He is primarily responsible for the research and development (R&D) of our Group.

 

Dr. Liao has over 28 years of experience in medical research and development. Prior to joining us, he worked as an assistant engineer at Wuhan University of Geodesy and Geomatics (now known as Wuhan University) from 1985 to 1988. From 1995 to 2001, Dr. Liao completed his postdoctoral research respectively at the Institute of Physics of Chinese Academy of Sciences (1995-1997), the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University Medical School (1998-1999), and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine (DPALM) of University of Texas Houston Medical School (1999-2001). From 1997 to 1998, Dr. Liao served as an associate researcher in the Department of Psychology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong and was mainly responsible for R&D of electroencephalography systems. From 2001 to 2005, he successively served as Senior Engineer and then Principal Engineer at ZOLL Medical Corporation. From 2005 to 2007, Dr. Liao was with Guidant Corporation (later acquired by Boston Scientific Corporation (a company listed on the New York Stock Exchange, stock code: BSX)) and Boston Scientific Corporation, where he served as a Senior Scientist and played a leading role in several R&D projects on pulmonary arterial pressure sensors and intracardiac pressure sensors. Dr. Liao served as Principal Engineer at InnerPulse, Inc (2007-2009), Principal Scientist at LivaNova PLC (NASDAQ: LIVN) (2009-2018), and Lead Auditor and Medical Device Specialist,Project Manager in TÜV SÜD, TÜV Rheinland and DEKRA (2018-2022). From 2022 to 2023, Dr. Liao served as a Vice President of R&D at MicroPort® Soaring CRM (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

 

Dr. Liao received his bachelor's degree in Radio Engineering from Wuhan University of Geodesy and Geomatics (now known as Wuhan University) in June 1985, his master's degree in Geophysics from Institute of Seismology, China Earthquake Administration in June 1991, and his PhD degree in Biomedical Engineering from Tsinghua University in June 1995. He has been a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2002.
